OCSA Academic and Discipline Probation Policy

As a magnet school within the district, OCSA has high standards of academic, disciplinary, and attendance to remain enrolled in OCSA.

  1. Students must earn a quarterly grade of 70% (C average) or higher in all classes to stay in good standing at OCSA. For High Schoolers, they must maintain a GPA of 2.3 or higher to stay in good standing at OCSA.
  1. Students who earn a D or an F at the end of each quarter will be placed on academic probation, and they must bring their grade up to a C or higher the following quarter. Parents will be notified by a FOCUS/Parent Square email and a letter and contract attached to quarterly report cards.
  1. Middle School Students who are on probation three or more times throughout their 6th through 8th grade may be reviewed to determine a student’s placement at OCSA. School Choice at OCSA MAY BE revoked if a student continues to be on probation for multiple quarters.
  1. High School Students who are on probation three or more times throughout the 9th through 12th grade may be reviewed to determine a student’s placement at OCSA. This is not to include their 6th-8th grade probation incidents. School Choice at OCSA MAY BE revoked if a student continues to be on probation for multiple quarters.
  1. Leadership will conduct a review of student's academics, behavior, attendance to determine a student's placement at OCSA. School Choice at OCSA MAY BE revoked if students do not maintain the minimum grade requirements.
  1. Repeated or serious discipline incidents may result in disciplinary probation and choice revocation.
  1. Excessive absences may result in absenteeism probation and choice revocation.
