Mr. Neal, Principal of OCSA

Greetings!

Summer is here, and a well-deserved break is ahead! I know students, teachers, and staff are ready to catch their breath, have some time to relax, and hopefully get to recharge. Here at OCSA, construction will be at full speed with work to begin on the renovations for the auditorium and new cafeteria, as well as other areas on campus. Additionally, we will be working to finalize the master schedule, fill any personnel needs, adjust facility usage, work on our school improvement plan, set goals for next year and create our plan of action. We do have some staff on campus throughout the summer with hours of 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, but to ensure the person you need to speak with is on campus and available, it will be best to call ahead to arrange for an appointment if possible. Our work in the school is continually in a cycle of plan, implement, assess, adjust, repeat. It has a wonderful feeling of renewal and excitement as we look forward to the next school year with fresh ideas, fresh faces, and a positive outlook. Summer provides a great opportunity to check where we are, where we want to go, and plan how to get there. I am so fortunate to be at a school with the talented, dedicated professionals that work together to make sure it happens. I hope you and your family have a relaxing and safe summer, and thank you for your continued support of OCSA... Where Passion Meets Purpose.

David

Jazz is a language of its own. 11th grader, David, has a unique view on jazz music. “Jazz gives me the freedom to execute any idea that comes up in my head,” he states. Like many other students, he connects to music which allows him to explore concepts beyond the classroom. He continues, “For me, it isn’t all about playing guitar chords; it is about what each one generates for the band and the infinite ways of phrasing and emphasizing them. Being in jazz has opened my ear to hear the story every single person in the band has to convey.”
